The Force is a riveting film that offers unique access into the Oakland Police Departments attempts to rebuild community relationships and reform the way policemen are trained and how they work in the field.
In partnership with the non-profit organization Open'hood, Blueshift was honored to develop a Screening Guide for the acclaimed documentary The Force. The guide supports facilitators in community engagement screenings who want to foster dialogue on police reform, community relations with law enforcement, and rebuilding trust within communities.
Supported by AFI Impact Grant, Blueshift is currently developing lessons to integrate The Force in high school History, Civics, and ELA classrooms and a field guide to use the film in professional trainings.
Watch the film on Independent Lens beginning January 22, 2018 or streamed on Netflix.
